Editing the boot characteristics / boot order of Windows XP using boot.ini

Going to Control Panel -> system properties -> advanced -> Startup and recovery -> settings, brings up the boot.ini ...

Path =  Start  - Control panel  - System

Start > Control Panel > System (aka "System Properties")

 

Shortcut One: (keyboard) : [Windows key], [c], [c]*, [s], [s], [s], (6 times**) , [Enter].
* as many "C" keys as it takes to highlight "Control Panel"
** as many "S" keys as it takes to highlight "System"

Shortcut Two: start > run > [ sysdm.cpl ] ( ie C:\WINDOWS\system32\sysdm.cpl ]), then {Advanced} tab, then 'Startup and Recovery', etc.
